What is DIVERSITY? Q&A with S. Leigh Thompson

I get asked a lot of questions about my work—from basic questions about diversity, inclusion and equity, to more in-depth questions about my practice and theories motivating my work. I love answering these questions, and so I thought I'd turn some of my answers into videos to engage more people in the conversation. I hope you enjoy!

Let's start at the top. What is DIVERSITY?

I get this question a lot and, to be honest, at first I found it hard to answer. Diversity is such a broad topic with a wide variety of applications. When developing my definition, I wanted to center its relationship to systemic power, keeping in mind the way that the diversity field strives to repair some of the damages done to marginalized communities.
